Prominent Serbian businessman and philanthropist Bogoljub Karić announced that he will propose to the Parliament of Serbia to pass a law on the formation of a National Fund for Afforestation, which would be called "Green Serbia-Amazon of Southeast Europe".
That Fund would enable every citizen of Serbia to plant at least 100 trees per year, announced the BK Group.
As stated, the forests in Serbia cover about 2.5 million hectares, which is about a third of the territory of Serbia, and Karić points out that only an economically strong, powerful and technologically developed Serbia could be ready for climate change, which we have also felt this year's summer so harshly.
"As the economy is developing powerfully, along with climate changes that will create conditions for planting kiwis on the terraces instead of muscat flowers, The Serbian Amazon Fund would be needed to establish a natural balance and produce oxygen," he said.
He pointed out that with the creation of the National Fund for Afforestation, all investment companies that want to work in our country would have the obligation to pay contributions into the "Green Serbia-Amazon of Southeast Europe" Fund.
"The only person in our country who has the strength to carry out such a project is the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, because what he gets his hands on, he brings to completion," said Bogoljub Karić and expressed his belief that all MPs will support his proposal for the adoption of that law.
